NEPI Rockcastle has signed a €250 million green term loan facility with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Senior unsecured, maturing in 2034, and committed entirely to green investment across our CEE portfolio under our Green Finance Framework.

The partner.
The EBRD is one of Europe’s leading international financial institutions, investing where its capital delivers value beyond what commercial markets alone can offer. For us that means long-dated green funding and support for developing both our people and our assets — a strong signal of confidence in the quality of our portfolio and our standing as one of the most competitive borrowers in the region.

The assets behind the green.
Every eligible project must achieve internationally recognised green building certification or deliver measurable improvements in low-carbon installations and energy performance — tangible steps toward the more sustainable shopping destinations we are building across the region. Environmental performance is part of how we compete for tenants, for footfall and for capital.

The strength it adds.
The facility complements our bonds and bank facilities, diversifying funding sources, extending our maturity profile and strengthening liquidity. It gives us the confidence and headroom to keep investing across each of our growth pillars, through the cycle and into the next phase of our expansion across Central and Eastern Europe.

It also underpins a multi-year training programme reaching more than 300 colleagues, building capabilities in digital skills, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and environmental management — an investment in the people who will carry our growth and sustainability ambitions forward.

Eliza Predoiu, Chief Financial Officer: “This is long-term capital with a clear purpose. It strengthens our funding base and accelerates a green investment programme that is already well underway, and it reflects the confidence we have in our own strategy. As we build and manage the next generation of retail destinations across Central and Eastern Europe — in markets growing faster than most of Europe, and communities that expect more from us every year — this is the kind of foundation that lets us keep raising the bar.”

Thank you to the EBRD team for a rigorous and constructive process, and to Dentons — our trusted advisers on bilateral financings for guiding us through it.
CEE deserves the best retail real estate in Europe. That is what we are here to deliver.
