Shaping the Future of Legal Advisory: Staying Close to Clients and Understanding Their Business

“There is no major project in which we don’t discuss the use of artificial intelligence,” Robert Ionita, NEPI Rockcastle’s General Counsel, highlighted several learnings in the AI era at Ziarul Financiar and Reff & Associates SPRL | Deloitte Legal‘s videoconference on the transformation of business law.

“We are already in the middle of a transformation. We are doing things and using tools that three years ago we would not have imagined we would adopt so quickly. There is no major project in the last year where we did not discuss with our legal teams, or within the lawyers’ selection process, how we and they use AI-based tools.”

Key takeaways:
AI is not replacing legal judgment, but it is redefining how legal work is performed, measured, and valued across industries—including real estate.
Discussions around AI capabilities have become a standard part of the conversation between companies and law firms.
The adoption of AI is emerging as a key indicator of efficiency, scalability, and competitiveness for legal teams.
While real estate may appear less exposed to technological disruption due to its reliance on physical assets, the sector is becoming increasingly data-driven.
Highly standardized and repeatable legal processes—such as due diligence—are particularly well-suited for AI-enabled automation.
