Live from NEPI Rockcastle’s Retailers Day in Zagreb!
Group Head of Marketing and PR, Dominik Piwek, kicked off the event by welcoming 150 guests from leading international, regional, and local brands, before handing over to award-winning journalist and broadcaster Kasia Madera.
The opening poll revealed just how far people travelled — from right across Europe and beyond — to be here. More than half of the delegates have worked with NEPI Rockcastle for over five years. That says everything about the strength and depth of our partnerships.
Marek Noetzel and Marius Barbu, our new CEO and COO, then took the stage and laid out our bold vision and plans.
We are the clear market leader in CEE with 60 assets across eight countries, valued at over €8 billion. Marek highlighted the 13.3% annual growth in purchasing power across the region in 2025. We are actively pursuing growth — organically, through development and M&A — not just in our core markets but also plannng to expand West into new territories. We’re building new revenue streams, scaling our green energy business with solar, and now exploring hydro and wind power too.
Marius brought the strategy to life with strong performance numbers:

⬆️ +8% increase in tenant turnover vs 2024
⬆️ Just 1% vacancy across the entire portfolio
He also updated the conference on our €845 million development pipeline, including the largest project currently underway in CEE — the major extension to Promenada Bucharest. Plus active food court refurbishments at Serdika Centre in Bulgaria and Arena Centar in Croatia — all designed to drive even stronger footfall and customer engagement.
Marius closed powerfully on our green energy ambitions: “Being energy independent and net zero by 2030 is key. We are targeting 47% of our energy to be self-generated by the end of next year.”
